The Bendix/King KTA 870 acts as your personal Air Traffic Control in the sky, actively interrogating transponders for positioning, distance, speed and altitude of other aircraft in your area. Using TCAS logic, the KTA 870 will automatically display and warn of other transponder-equipped traffic that pose a potential threat. The KTA 870 system displays on most EFIS and multi-function displays, including the KMD 550/850. Traffic displays eight different ranges, from 2 nm to 40 nm.The full-color system shows up to 30 targets and tracks up to 60. The system illustrates three levels of threat.
The Ryan 9900BX TAS uses a patented directional antenna system for interrogation and reception of threat aircraft transponder replies, providing precise accuracy for range and bearing resolution of threat aircraft. The range accuracy is based on the measured and calculated time-delay responses of threat aircraft transponders and meets TCAS I bearing and distance specifications. In the air traffic control environment, an unauthorized deviation in assigned altitude can compromise safety. The 9900BX can alert the pilot prior to arrival at an assigned altitude or to inadvertent changes in altitude.
The Ryan 9900 TCAD Series offers a progressive upgrade path for general and corporate aviation aircraft. Beginning with the standard functionality of the 9900 TCAD, every aircraft owner can build and expand their system by installing the basic TCAD system and then upgrade to the ultimate 9900BX TCAD as time and budget allows. The 9900 series will interface with your multi-function display. Passive reception provides significant coverage in radar environments.
The Ryan 8800 TCAD’s digital display profiles surrounding air traffic threats. The TCAD alerts the pilot of nearby traffic by showing altitude separation, altitude trend, and range on an integral vacuum fluorescent display. Model 8800 Gold and Silver TCAD‘s track up to 50 aircraft and always display the three closest threats. Each threat is tracked indicating altitude changes and whether the threat is converging or diverging with the host aircraft. Distance is shown as changes in indicated nautical miles as the threat aircraft closes or gains distance from the TCAD equipped aircraft.
The L3 Communications BF Goodrich SkyWatch Traffic Advisory System provides real collision avoidance information for a fraction of the cost of TCAS. It monitors the airspace around your aircraft and indicates where to look for nearby transponder-equipped aircraft that may pose a collision threat. This active surveillance system tracks up to 30 intruder aircraft simultaneously and generates both aural & visual traffic advisories. It can toggle between lightning information and traffic information when connected to a Stormscope.
The Bendix/King KT 73 Data Link Transponder is an affordable, solid state, compact general aviation transponder with Mode S capability. This system is fully upgradeable to 1090 ADS-B. The KT 73 is also capable of interfacing to the KMD 550 or 850 Multi-Function Display to display traffic information.
The Garmin GTX 330/330D are Mode S, IFR-certified transponders with datalink capability, including local traffic updates and expandability to accommodate potential future services such as ADS-B. Now, from the comfort of your aircraft, you can receive FAA Traffic Information Services (TIS), including location, direction, altitude, and climb/descent information of nearby aircraft on your GNS 530 or GNS 430. The result is improved communication between aircraft and air traffic control (ATC), providing pilots with greater traffic awareness in busy terminal areas.
